Don't Underestimate What Simple Acts of Kindness Can Do

I was online just a few moments ago and came across some videos on my FYP that had mean comments on them. It was about a girl's physical appearance (her nose). It's unbelievable how easy it has become for others to make snide remarks one moment, and then be an advocate for mental health the next day.
Today, I'll share a few simple acts of kindness that don't require a lot. In today's world, I believe this is very important because there's so much going on, and according to the World Health Organization, more than 1 billion people are living with mental health conditions (mostly anxiety and depression). That's a lot of people! And that still doesn't include unrecorded cases. While there's not much we can do about this, we can practice simple acts of kindness. We never really know what people are going through. Your smile or generous act can make someone's day.

Why should you practice simple acts of kindness?
The simple answer is that it creates a domino effect. When you do something nice for someone, that person (in a way) becomes inspired to do the same for someone else. The rest continues from there, and so, in that little effort, you help contribute to making the world more pleasant.
Simple acts of kindness you can do today
Write a thank you note or message to someone you appreciate
Give honest compliments where they’re due- people will appreciate them
Offer to help carry someone’s groceries
Give your new coworker a warm welcome
Order food for your Grab/UberEats driver
Pick up some trash and throw it in the bin
Hug your family members and tell them how much you love them
Don’t get into arguments during traffic jams
Offer your parking spot and share a smile
Give a stray dog a nice treat
Leave some snacks by the door for your delivery rider
Write a good review for one of your favorite restaurants
Give compliments to the chef for a nice meal
Cheer someone up
Lend a listening ear to a friend or acquaintance
Treat yourself to a spa day or relax all day (you should be kind to yourself too)
Pay for someone’s coffee
Repot your plants (they deserve kindness as well)
Make a care package for someone you know who really needs it
Thank the people you don’t always get to thank
Bake or cook something for your friends, family, colleagues, or neighbors
Send a nice message to a friend you haven’t heard from for a long time
Offer to take on more chores than usual
Make a handmade card for a loved one
We can keep going, but I’m sure you have more ideas. So I will stop here for now. Thanks for stopping by! Remember: A good deed a day keeps the negativity away.
