There are plenty of activities to enjoy in Puerto Princesa. But if it’s your first time visiting this beautiful island, you should not miss an educational trip to the mangrove forest. The zipline adventure is also a must-try. They’re worth it, promise!
Today, I’ll share our experience with these activities to give you an idea of what to expect on your trip.

The zipline and paddle boat tour I’m writing about today is part of a package (which includes the Underground River tour) we booked through KKDay. I made a separate post for the subterranean river tour, which you can check out here.
Mangrove Paddle Boat Tour
Sabang’s mangrove forest is a nature reserve home to lush trees and a variety of mangrove species.
Here, you can find plenty of trees and shrubs, as well as animals. We saw monkeys, lizards, and nocturnal snakes curled up and concealed in the tree branches. I don't think any of us noticed until our guide started pointing at them. He also said that these are mildly venomous and can attack even during the day if they feel threatened (despite their calm, unbothered appearance). I didn't take photos of the snakes, but if you're curious, you can look up Palawan mangrove snake. It's the Black one with Yellow accents.

We learned that aside from helping reduce the impact of natural disasters, mangroves improve water quality because they separate the dirt and sediments from the water (it's connected to the sea). So it's like a natural filter.

Sabang X Zipline
Now, for the exciting part- the zipline! I think the Sabang X Zipline adventure was what everyone in our tour group looked forward to the most. Everyone looked more alert for this activity; this is also the part where you can walk around Sabang beach and take a quick dip (or take photos if you want).

You can leave your bag in the van if it's going to be a hassle for you to walk with it (those with big bags left theirs), but if you only have a small bag, it's okay to take it with you as you do the zipline. Just make sure it's closed and everything's zipped up.
Since I only brought a small bag (my husband didn't have any), I just took it with me to keep our phones safe.

There was no one at the beach except our group.

For those who don't want to take out their phones, but want to have photos on the line, don't worry because they have a photographer waiting on the other end to take your pictures and sell them to you as souvenirs (₱250 per copy). Since we didn't use our phone during the ride, we bought physical copies of our photos as a remembrance.

The 800-meter zipline was very fun and lasted more than a minute. You’re going to love this one, for sure. The view up there is just amazing. I would have liked to do it again if we didn’t have to rush.
