Samgyupsal restaurants have always been one of our go-to places for celebrations or when we crave unlimited food, but for a change, we went to NIU to try something new (pun intended).

Anyway, since NIU is a part of the Vikings family, we were excited to go. We've always had a good experience with their other brands, so it made sense to expect the same thing (or better) for this one.

NIU is another luxury buffet restaurant from the Vikings Group with two branches in Metro Manila- one at The Podium and one at SM Aura. We went to The Podium since it was closer to us.

Our Experience | Food & Favorites

We booked a table for lunch on a weekday and opted for a spot near the glass window to get our city view. The restaurant has an elegant, classy vibe.

It wasn't very packed the first 30 minutes, but more guests started to arrive after that. Those empty seats in the photo? They were eventually occupied mostly by couples and families.

I had a lot of favorites that day, but the ones I kept going back for were the unlimited sashimi, sushi, lechon, and pizzas. Very delicious. We were there for two hours, but I still wasn't able to try the rest because I got full after how many plates, lol. There was so much food that it was hard to try each one.

Most of the appetizers were delicious, there was only one kind that I didn’t like that much (the one in small cones).

There are nine sections inside the restaurant (NIU in Viking language means nine) where you can choose from Japanese, French, Chinese, Italian, and more.

I kept coming back for the sashimi. Yum!

They also offer a wide selection of drinks, including free-flowing wine, soda, cocktails, coffee, iced tea, hot tea, juices, yogurt drinks, and beer.

There were also more than ten flavors of ice cream aside from the stacks of cakes and candy jars available for dessert.

These little cakes are more filling than they look. I had one of the chocolate squares and three of the cute carrot cakes to go with my coffee.
