When I was looking for places to visit in Puerto Princesa, Mitra’s Ranch kept showing up, so we decided to include it in our itinerary and check it out.

Join me today as we explore this spot! It’s really nice 😊

Rancho Mitra in Puerto Princesa, Palawan (Philippines)

About this Place

The scenic ranch is owned by former Philippine Senator Ramon Mitra, one of Puerto Princesa’s most prominent politicians, who was also known as a journalist and a diplomat.

Mitra’s Ranch used to be the private residence of the Mitra family before they converted it into a public attraction.

Mitra Road, Barangay Sta. Monica, Puerto Princesa, Palawan

The ranch is open everyday from 5 AM to 6 PM.

Grab is not available in Puerto Princesa. To go around, you can rent a tricycle or use Backride Palawan (their ride-hailing service, which I recommend).

Ancestral House Tour

Since we arrived around lunchtime, but didn’t want to eat yet, we started with the ancestral house tour. There is an entrance fee of ₱20.00 if you want to enter, and shoes are not allowed inside.

Here, you can look at their family portraits, personal belongings, and some awards of the former senator. It's like a mini family museum, and it's well-maintained. I enjoyed going around and thought they had an interesting life. According to one of the caretakers, the former statesman loves cockfighting (sabong) and horses.

At the front porch, you can chill at one of the tables and chairs while basking in the view. Simply beautiful.

Fun Activities to Try at Mitra’s Ranch

Mitra’s Ranch offers fun activities that are safe for kids and adults. They have a giant swing, a rainbow slide, a hanging bridge with a zipline ride, and a giant web. You can get your tickets on site. We availed of the package that included the Skywalk (hanging bridge and zipline), the Giant Web, and the Rainbow Slide.

If you want to ride a horse and go around, there is an additional fee of 200 pesos. I rode a horse named Jaime (hope I heard it right), and she was so adorable! She looked a bit sleepy, but was well-behaved during our stroll.

What we tried | Giant Slide, Skywalk, and Giant Web

The rainbow slide was a short but thrilling slide you can enjoy on your own, with your partner, or with friends. We liked this! Lol. Especially the part in the end where it goes super fast before stopping.

Everything was fun, but going on the hanging bridge and the zipline was my favorite. Here are the staff members who assisted us during the activity.

The giant web is literally what it’s called- a giant web made of rope where you can take photos and get a 360-degree view of the ranch.

Take a Break and Grab a Drink from Rancho Cafe

Food and drinks are available at Rancho Cafe. It's the small coffee shop in front of the ancestral house. We didn't get any food, but our orders were delicious.

I guess that would be all for now. Feel free to check out other posts on the blog, and download your free planner printables on the homepage 💜

Stay safe and hydrated!
