Enjoy Delicious Hot Pot at Home with Lee Kum Kee
It was my parents who influenced me and my husband to like hot pot. Whenever we'd be in the same area, they would invite us to eat with them at their favorite hot pot place and bond over soup- that's how we started to enjoy it.
Anyway… Today, I am sharing how we prepare delicious Hot Pot without breaking the bank! Maybe you could get some ideas too (for your next sleepover, date night, or family night).
Doing it at home is cheaper and is as fun as having it at your favorite restaurant. Bonding while cooking together is also a great way to spend time with loved ones.
What You’ll Need | Enjoy Delicious Hot Pot at Home
Electric Burner and Cooking Pot
A single induction burner is perfect for hot pot sessions and is a safer option since you’re cooking at the table.
When it comes to ingredients, you can go as fancy or basic as you want (depending on the occasion or your preference), but here are the essentials I suggest you don't miss.

Carbohydrates (Rice & Noodles)
For your carbs, you can pick from rice or noodles. You can also try both. We used egg and vermicelli noodles. I recommend getting fresh egg noodles if you like thick soup. The ones from Ersao are delicious and are available at most grocery stores.
Vegetables & Leafy Greens
The great thing about hot pot is that it makes vegetables taste good. You can pretty much add whatever you want. For our veggies, we used what was available in our fridge: loads of chopped garlic, spinach, carrots, coriander, Chinese cabbage (pechay), mushrooms, and leeks.

Other vegetable options: corn, bamboo shoots, radish, lotus root, and onions.
Meats & Toppings
Thinly sliced meats are perfect for hot pots because they cook fast along with the rest of your ingredients. Pork and beef sukiyaki are ideal. You can also throw in some shredded chicken.
We opted for pork sukiyaki and also got a few more ingredients, such as lobster balls, scallop meat, fresh tofu, and fish tofu (highly recommended).
Soup Base & Sauces
For the soup base, you can use Lee Kum Kee’s Soup Base for Hot Pot. You can buy this at leading grocery stores or order it online through Shopee or Lazada.
Just mix one pack with six (6) glasses of water, and you already have a good soup base.

For extra flavor, you can add sesame oil, oyster sauce, or chili oil to your bowl.
I guess that would be all for today. Would you also like to enjoy delicious hotpot at home? 🍲
