DIY Brazilian Hair Treatment at Home

Applying conditioner hasn’t always been part of my hair care routine. I used to skip it back when I was in college because I was using a volumizing shampoo and teasing my hair in our dorm room before leaving for class. I have naturally straight hair, and I thought using a conditioner would make it look limp (well, it does in excess amounts), so I stuck with what worked for me for a long time.

That was until we temporarily moved to the beachside (where we eventually got stranded due to the pandemic). I realized I should start conditioning to prevent my strands from drying; the salt from the air reduces moisture in the hair. And so I tried a lot of brands, mostly the familiar ones you see in commercials, then came along KeratinPlus.

Product: KeratinPlus Brazilian Hair Treatment

Packaging & Product Claims

The product comes in a 200g tube, which I like because you can cut it in half later on to get the remaining product. You’d be surprised with how much is left inside; it’s still good for around four to five baths depending on the length of your hair. It’s efficient and will give you your money’s worth.

It says in the packaging that it’s infused with Argan oil, Jojoba oil, and is also paraben-free. On top of that, it’s ideal for rebonded, color-treated, or frizzy hair.

Price & Availability

It’s available in leading groceries nationwide and on Shopee or Lazada (see links below to purchase this conditioner).

Prices may vary depending on where you get it.

How to Use

To use, just squeeze a generous amount of conditioner, then apply to hair. You can leave it for a minute to get the product to work or two minutes for extra softness.

My Thoughts

To be honest, I wasn’t expecting a lot when I first tried the product; but ended up liking it after realizing it’s a good deal. It’s better than the popular brands most of us have grown to love and is a great discovery. You might want to give it a try.

I highly recommend this to those who want to achieve softer, shinier hair. The effects last for hours, and you’ll feel it yourself when you finger-comb your hair. It smells good and keeps your hair bouncy as well. KeratinPlus is like, somewhere in the middle between CreamSilk and Tresemme.

This product is made in the Philippines.
