Astoria Plaza One Bedroom Suite | Ortigas, Pasig Accommodation
If you want to take a break, have a solo staycation, or are just looking for a hotel where you can hold celebrations, you might want to consider Astoria Plaza; it’s a three-star hotel that offers a relaxing urban experience for you, your family, and your friends.
It's located at 15 Escriva Drive, Ortigas Business District, Pasig City. Nearby landmarks include the Fern-C building, MiniStop, Ropali, and Jollibee Shaw Escriva.
What’s Inside the One BR Suite?
We’ll go straight to the standard one-bedroom suite because I wasn’t able to take photos of the gym, the pool, and the cafe (you can just look these up online). Room size is approximately 62-80 square meters.
One (1) bedroom with en suite bathroom- you can choose from either two twin-sized beds or one queen-sized bed. You’ll also find the following inside the bedroom: an executive table with chair and drawers, an electronic safe, luggage rack, cabinet with hangers, clothes iron with ironing board, laundry bags, reading lamps, bedroom slippers, a full face mirror, hair dryer, complimentary razors, soap, shampoo, conditioner, bubble bath solutions, facial tissues, bathroom tissues, comb, razors, and towels.
Kitchen area- with induction cooker, pots and pans, a blender, plates, cutlery, complimentary coffee and tea, other cooking apparatus, and a water kettle.
Living area- one (1) cable television set with DVD player, a sofa, extra foldable bed, two lounge chairs, magazines, and reading lamps.
Dining area- one (1) table with complimentary fruits and water bottles.
What else is the booking inclusive of?
Complimentary wifi is available for two devices, just ask for the username and password, and they’ll give it to you. Astoria also offers a scheduled shuttle service to nearby malls and establishments for those who would like to do their groceries or shopping trips (Shangri-La, SM Megamall, The Podium, and Robinsons Galleria, among others).
On top of that, you can expect stunning views of the Ortigas skyline at night from the living room or the bedroom, something you’d enjoy while sipping your drink of choice.
I think it was in 2010 when I first stepped on the lobby of Astoria Plaza, I was back home in Pasig at that time from Cavite (where I went to college), and my first impression was that it wasn’t spacious enough to accommodate eight or more guests at a time. The reception space was limited, and there weren’t enough chairs, but the great thing is that the attendants were accommodating. They offered coffee and tea, so that compensated for it.
As for room service, all the staff members we've encountered were polite and friendly. Some were quite chatty as well, so you don’t have to worry about awkward encounters inside elevators. I guess the only downside for me would be that the actual rooms don't look as advertised (they still look great, though).
My family, friends, and I have been checking into this hotel for years, mostly for birthdays and sleepovers. It’s a convenient place to be in if you just want a quick getaway or be somewhere else without leaving the city. It’s located in the business district of Pasig, so if you work in Ortigas, there’ll be no hassle going to work the next day. You can either walk or take a cab. If you’re just visiting the area for business, you can enjoy maxing out the buffet the morning after.
Overall, I’d give it a rating of 8/10.
Astoria also has branches in other parts of the metro and the country (Astoria Greenbelt, Astoria Boracay, Astoria Bohol, Astoria Current, and Astoria Palawan). They also have an event reception venue, and a waterpark.
