Beat Creative Blocks Now

Are you a writer, musician, or an artist feeling stuck? Or an entrepreneur struggling to get inspiration for that next business idea?

We all experience creative blocks at some point in our lives (and careers), it’s perfectly normal. If you’re having a hard time getting back on track, here are a few things that you can do.

Meditate

Clear your mind from worries by setting aside time for meditation. Five to ten minutes will do. Find a quiet space in your house, play some soothing background music, and sit with your back straight. Then, without any hurry, go into the silence by closing your eyes and breathing slowly. Visualize positive energy entering your body as you inhale, and release all the tension when you exhale. Surely, this will give you results.

Write on your Journal

Your unexpressed thoughts lingering around some corner in your mind may be stalling your creativity. Get your journal and write as much as you can, remember to let your hand run free. If you’re quite unsure where to start, you can download printable reflection journals, then just answer the questions.

Sketch it Out

If writing bores you, then sketch or doodle your thoughts. The goal is basically the same with writing, and that’s to declutter the mind. Remember that it doesn’t have to be perfect, we’re trying to remove the blockages here; not creating a masterpiece. It’s okay to strive for excellence and perfection in the things we do, but it’s not possible all the time, and we have to make peace with that.

Take a Walk

Take a stroll and get some air outside; a little breeze might just be all you need to regain that creative inspiration. Ask a friend or your lover to come with you, or enjoy your alone time, it’s up to you. What matters is that you take a walk and see a different view.

Do Something Else

Grab a snack, watch a few videos, or clean your room; this will keep you busy and prevent you from stressing about the creative block. Do something else for a while to loosen up a bit, then just return to your project after 30 minutes or an hour. Remember that creative blocks are temporary so there's no need to worry too much. That would be all for today. Thanks for reading!
