8 Work from Home Essentials for your Home Office

There is no doubt that our working lifestyles have drastically changed after the pandemic. Digital transformation sped up faster than expected, and we’ve all got to adapt to the new normal.

Whether you just started your freelancing career, or are following a hybrid model working setup, below are eight (8) work from home essentials to help you become more productive:

1) Work Desk

To work efficiently at home, you’re going to need a dedicated work desk in your workstation. It doesn’t necessarily have to be big, just spacious enough to fit your laptop, notepad, and other basics. The rest can go inside your storage boxes or the drawers in your mobile pedestal.

If there isn’t enough space in your home to set up a workstation, you can just get a foldable table.

2) Comfortable Chair

Since you’ll be spending long hours on your chair, it would only make sense to use a comfortable one. Thankfully, there are many affordable ones you can get online. For added comfort, you can also use a throw pillow for your back.

3) Stable Internet Connection

One of the most important things you should have when working from home is a stable internet connection (well, the faster, the better). It’s almost impossible to get work done without the internet nowadays because we need it not only for research and communication; but for some of the actual work that we do as well.

4) Calendar, Planner, or Task Sheets

Managing and organizing tasks can be challenging at times, most especially if you have so many things to do. Save yourself from cramming or prioritizing the wrong tasks by using a calendar, a planner, or task sheets like the ones below.

5) Desk Organizers

To think clearly, you’re going to need a clean and organized desk. Having storage boxes and desk organizers would be of great help to avoid unnecessary clutter while you’re working. Examples of these organizers include pen holders, document trays, or mini drawers for your trinkets.

6) Headphones

It would be wise to invest in good headphones if you’re the type of person who enjoys listening to music while working. It’s also going to be very useful during meetings since it would make it easier for you to hear what your colleague or client is saying, and vice versa.

7) Good Lighting

Prevent eye strain by having good lighting in your workstation. You can also just get a lamp online, preferably the adjustable one, so you can easily set the light according to your mood.

8) Mobile Pedestal

Keep your office supplies and important files in one place by using a mobile pedestal. If you don’t have a storage area or enough shelving in your home to accommodate office essentials, getting a mobile pedestal would be a great idea. It doesn’t take up much space, and it’s easy to move around as well.

Of course, you may or may not need a few other things (depending on what you consider as necessities), but here are some more items for you to consider: a mug warmer, trash bin, water bottle, speaker, extension cord, humidifier, or an indoor plant. What else do you think you need for your home office? Feel free to send a message and say hi! Andi ♥
