5 Ways to Show your Employees you Value Them

Your employees are one of your greatest assets. They execute your ideas, serve your customers, and represent the brand. While business success is usually determined by impressive profits or a solid brand reputation, it is also defined by enthusiastic employees who find joy and meaning in their jobs.

Work takes up the most time in an employee’s regular day, so it’s perfectly wise that you include the happiness and well-being of the people who work for you in your priority list. After all, happy employees are productive employees.

Here are some ways on how you can show your employees that you value them:

1 Make things fun every once in a while

Tap into your employees’ creative selves by giving them a creative activity, such as vision board making. Not only will they be able to showcase their hidden art skills, but it will also remind them of their life motivations, which is a good thing. It will push them to perform better at work, deliver excellent results, and achieve their personal goals as well. To prevent creative blocks, you can also provide board games or instruments that they can use during break time.

2 Recognize and reward individual efforts

Encourage employees to do more by rewarding individual contributions. You can acknowledge them through employee boards, during staff meetings, or through your business page. You can also use gift checks or bonuses as prizes for outstanding performers. By doing this, you create a positive effect on their work behavior, improve their team skills, and eventually produce satisfactory results for your business.

3 Create a conducive space for working

Ensure that your employees work around a clean and tidy office; if you deem your office needs a makeover, have the walls painted or rearrange the stations. You can also throw in a few plants in the common areas or have an artist paint a mural representative of the brand’s culture. The ideas are endless; all you have to do is be resourceful and creative.

Just as a plant needs the right environment to grow, your employees need the right working environment to flourish as well.

Team work makes the dream work. Provide opportunities for group activities, make everyone feel that they’re part of a team, and watch motivation levels improve in no time. A good social environment is essential in sustaining workers and keeping them happy with their jobs. It will contribute to the performance of your business too!

5 Encourage a healthy work-life balance

Regularly check on your employees. Ask how they are doing in other aspects of their lives. Let them know you’re someone they can trust should they have any concerns. Support their hobbies and fuel their other passions, this way, you communicate that you support a healthy work-life balance. As we all know, a good work-life balance results to a more fulfilling life outside work, which leads to increased productivity inside the office. That’s it! Some simple yet helpful ways on how you can value your employees.
